Vintage Boodles Ruby and Diamond Kookaburra Brooch Yellow Gold

A beautiful vintage ruby and diamond kookaburra brooch set in 18k yellow gold.

The main body of the bird is composed of a sizeable pear-shaped cabochon ruby. The rest of the bird is made of various yellow gold components with 25 small round brilliant-cut diamond details, with the eye set with a small round brilliant-cut emerald. The shape of the ruby gives the bird a fuller appearance. The colour and contrast against the yellow gold make it stand out nicely when wearing. The brooch is secured to reverse with a pin and roller clap fitting.

Due to the design and the vibrancy of the ruby in the piece, it beautifully stands out when worn on either a jumper, jacket or shirt. A perfect gift for a bird lover!

The ruby measures approximately 1 centimetre in length and 0.7 centimetres in width. The estimated total weight of the diamonds is 0.27 carats, ranging from G-H in colour with VVS clarity.
